  • Decreasing Incidence Rates Breast cancer incidence rates in the U.S. began decreasing dramatically in the year 2000 after a steady increase for decades. Women under 50 are experiencing significantly lower incidences, which may be the result of treatment advances, earlier detection through screening, and increased awareness.
