PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This interactive, case-based educational program is designed for oncologists and pathologists. Expert faculty will discuss key topics surrounding HER2 testing in metastatic breast cancer, using cases to illustrate and reinforce core principles and knowledge. Upon completion of the program, learners from the target audience will be better able to apply evidence-based guidelines and recommendations toward optimizing HER2 testing, interpretation and reporting. Further, they will be better able to determine treatment pathways for metastatic breast cancers, based on HER2 testing outcomes.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for oncologists and pathologists.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Apply considerations for HER2-low testing, including for sample preparation, testing strategy, interpretation of staining, and reporting test outcomes
- Summarize the latest clinical practice guideline recommendations for HER2-low testing and reporting per the ASCO-CAP and NCCN guidelines, as well as the importance of multidisciplinary discussion in treatment planning
- Describe the clinical trial data for trastuzumab deruxtecan in treating HER2-low metastatic breast cancer
